Texas Motor Speedway announced on Wednesday that the rescheduled Verizon IndyCar Series Firestone 600 on August 27 will have a very special theme.
Police officers both locally and far away will be given free entry to the race with a companion in recognition of the wonderful work that the men and women in blue do everyday. The ‘Back The Blue Night’ will also be open to all first responders who wish to attend the race.
The ‘Restart your engines’ features special promotions such as $1 hot dogs and Coca-Cola beverages. The circuit opens at 4PM CT with Verizon IndyCar Series drivers taking to the track for at 4:30PM for a half hour warm up session. Following warm-up there will be a full field autograph session from 5:30PM to 6:15PM.
The race will commence from lap 73 of 248 at 8PM CT with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Honda leading the racing. For more information about the race visit – http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com
