The Verizon IndyCar Series Vice President of Competition and director of race operations Brian Barnhart is to return to team involvement after accepting an offer to become president of Harding Racing who will make their full-time debut in the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2018.
Barnhart will bring a wealth of experience to the role at Harding Racing after a quarter of a century in his role with the Verizon IndyCar Series.
The 56 year old described joining the team at Harding Racing as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
He went on to say:
I’m very excited about getting back on the team side and competitive side of things again. “It’s certainly one of the components that factored in heavily in making the decision.
Barnhart will work alongside team owner Mike Harding and Larry Curry, who like Barnhart has a wealth of experience in the Verizon IndyCar Series.
Barnhart will also work alongside driver Gabby Chases who returns to full time Verizon IndyCar Series competition in 2018 with the Chevrolet powered Harding Racing team following and impressive partial season with the outfit this year.
