FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has welcomed Cadillac to Formula One following the news that TWG Motorsports who will lead the team and General Motors have been granted entry to Formula One in 2026.

The new American team led by Graeme Lowdon will be based in Fishers, Indiana while also set up at a location in Banbury England.

In a statement, Ben Sulayem said:

The FIA Formula One World Championship’s expansion to an 11th team in 2026 is a milestone. GM/Cadillac brings fresh energy, aligning with the new FIA 2026 regulations and ushering in an exciting wra for the sport.

The Cadillac Formula One Team’s presence in the paddock will inspire future competitors and fans. Their entry strengthens our mission to push motorsport’s boundaries at the highest level.’
