New Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team driver Valtteri Bottas says he is determined to succeed with the Silver Arrows and says that it is easy to let the stress pile up but that if you do that it only does harm.
The Finn has replaced world champion Nico Rosberg as Lewis Hamilton’s team mate, signing a one year contract with the Brackley based outfit.
Bottas told Finnish broadcaster MTV 3 that any pressure that he encounters comes from within because he wants to win races and reach his ultimate goal of winning the championship.
Bottas’ situation is similar to that of Daniel Ricciardo when he moved from Toro Rosso to Red Bull to replace Mark Webber where he was joining a team with an established four time world champion in Sebastien Vettel, however Ricciardo was able to show that he could beat Vettel in equal machinery.
Bottas has shown what he can with Williams and he will is now in a position where he can reach his full potential provided Mercedes can give him a competitive car.
