Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas scored his tenth career victory from pole at the Turkish Grand while Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen came home in second to retake the lead of the championship to head to the U.S six points ahead of Hamilton.
Sergio Perez rounded out the top three for Red Bull just ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton who endured a tough race after not listening to his engineer about pitting.
Pierre Gasly recovered from a 5s penalty to finish the race sixth just ahead of Lando Norris.
Carlos Sainz came from 20th to finish the race in eighth place just ahead of Lance Stroll and Esteban Ocon who didn’t stop during the 58 lap race to round out the top ten.
Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Formula One Team’s Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Raikkonen came home 11th and 12th respectively.
Daniel Ricciardo came through the field to finish the race in 13th just ahead of Yuki Tsunoda and George Russell.
Fernando Alonso started the race from fifth but a first lap incident saw him fall back down the field and finished in 16th.
Nicholas Latifi was 17th just ahead of Sebastian Vettel and the Haas F1 Team’s Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.
