The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas led the way in the opening practice session for Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit on Sunday. The Finn set a fastest time of 01:20.703s ending the morning just ahead of team mate and championship leader Lewis Hamilton.
Alex Albon was third with a fastest time of 01:21.500s for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing ending the session just ahead of Alpha Tauri’s Daniil Kyvat and Max Verstappen who crashed mid session.
Pierre Gasly rounded out the top six with a time of 01:21.667s ending up just ahead of Sergio Perez and and Lando Norris.
Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top ten. Charles LeClerc was eleventh just ahead of Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll. The Haas F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen were 14th and 15th respectively.
Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN’s Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Raikkonen were 16th and 17th respectively. Roy Nissany, Williams Racing reserve driver was 18th with a time of 01:22.826s just ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel while Nicholas Latifi rounded out the order.
