The Brackley based outfit go into the race on Sunday needing to score just eleven points to claim their seventh consecutive Constructors championship title.
Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen survived a scare in the session after a spark plug had to be changed on his car as he will start the race from third place following a time of 01:14.176s.
It was a great qualifying for Pierre Gasly who will remain at Alpha Tauri next season as the Frenchman who took victory in Monza earlier this season starts the race from fourth place following a time of 01:14.502s ending the day just ahead of Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon who survived a spin to make it into Q3.
