Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas and his management team have reportedly opened talks with the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Formula One Team regarding a race seat with the Hinwil-based outfit in 2022.

The Finn is rumored to be on his way out of the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team with the Brackley-based outfit set to announce Williams George Russell as Lewis Hamilton’s new teammate.

Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff has comfirmed that no decision has yet been made on who will race alongside Lewis Hamilton.

Paddock Eye understands that Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Formula One Team Principal and CEO of Sauber Motorsports AG Frédéric Vasseur has not ruled out replacing both Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi for 2022.

It will be interesting to see what will happen at Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN who are not duecto make an announcement about their drivers until later in the year.
