Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas stayed top in the second practice session on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Portuguese Grand Prix at the Portimao circuit on Friday.
The Finn set a fastest time of 01:17.940s ending the session just ahead of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen who brought out the red flag following a collision with Lance Stroll.
Lando Norris was third fastest for McLaren with a time of 01:18.743s ending the session ahead of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
Sebastian Vettel was sixth just ahead Pierre Gasly whose car went up in flames while Lewis Hamilton was eighth for the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. Esteban Ocon and Alex Albon rounded out the top ten with a time of 01:19.643s.
It was a great session for Williams Racing’s George Russell who was eleventh with a time of 01:19.821s just ahead of Sergio Perez and Daniel Ricciardo.
Nicholas Latifi ended the day in 14th just ahead of Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN’s Kimi Raikkonen and the Haas F1 Team’s Kevin Magnussen. Daniil Kyvat was 17th just ahead of Romain Grosjean and Lance Stroll.
Antonio Giovinazzi rounded out the order in 20th.
