The Frenchman set a fastest time of 57.9213s ending the session just ahead of Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet for Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda.
Harding Steinbrenner Racing’s Colton Herta in the No.88 Capstone Turbines Honda continued his strong form from practice one ending the day in fourth place with a time of 58.0848s.
Series points leader Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Hitachi Chevrolet was fifth just ahead of Alexander Rossi and Simon Pagenaud.
Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda was eighth just ahead of James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda while Takuma Sato rounded out the top ten.
Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing was 11th just ahead of Santino Ferrucci in the No.19 Cly Del Honda.
Marco Andretti in the No.98 Oberto Circle K Honda was 13th just ahead of Zach Veach and Spencer Pigot.
Mathues Matt Leist was 16th for AJ Foyt Racing just ahead of Ryan Hunter Reay and Graham Rahal. Ed Jones was 19th just ahead of Max Chilton and Conor Daly.
Charlie Kimball and Tony Kanaan rounded out the order.
