KVSH Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais had a very busy period between the abandoned Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway and this weekend’s Kohler Grand Prix at the Road America circuit in Wisconsin as last weekend he was racing in his home town, taking part in the LeMans 24 Hours with the Chip Ganassi Racing Ford Performance team in a Ford GT.

The Frenchman took victory in the race on Ford’s return to the most famous endurance race and speaking about the win he commented by saying:

Words come short in explaining what the result at Le Mans means to me and my family. Winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GT for Ford’s return 50 years after 1966 was an absolute honor. Thanks to everyone who made this possible: the Ford Family, Chip Ganassi and Mike Hull for picking me, Ganassi Racing, Multimatics, Roush Yates, the sponsors, all the team members involved in this incredible program, and last but not least my flying teammates who drove a fantastic race!

Bourdais’ attention switching back to the Verizon IndyCar Series where this weekend he is back in the cockpit of the No.11 Team Hydroxycut KVSH Racing Chevrolet for the Kohler Grand Prixx at the Road America circuit. The Frenchman goes into the weekend as the defending race winner having taken victory here in 2007 with the McDonald’s car he drove for Newman Haas Racing team and is currently in 14th place in the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series points standings having claimed one victory in the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit Race 1 earlier this month.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s return to racing at the Road America circuit Bourdais commented by saying:

I’m really looking forward to racing at Road American again. It’s my favorite road course in the United States and like a lot of the tracks in Europe. I raced there four times back in the CART and Champ Car days and finished on the podium every time. At one point I was wondering if I would ever win there and finally did in my last race back in 2007. KVSH Racing had a good race car at the only permanent road course we’ve raced on this year, at Barber, so the Hydroxycut machine should be fast right off the truck. Hopefully, we can keep my streak of podiums at Road America alive or even get our second win of the season.
