Dale Coyne with Vasser Sullivan Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 Mouser Honda said he was really happy with how his Friday went at the Honda Indy Toronto. The Frenchman ended the day in third place with a time of 00:59.9866s and speaking following the track action he said:
I am really happy with the way the day went for the Mouser Molex team. The team has done an incredible amount of work to prepare for this race. We went to the simulator and have really spent the whole of the last two weeks working to come up with something better than we have had for the street course set-up. Coming to Toronto and having a day one like we did is a bit of a dream come true, to be honest. It’s been awhile since I have felt that good on a street course. I am very happy with the way the car brakes, and that is the way you produce good lap times around here. I am really happy for the whole Mouser Molex group. Hopefully, we can back it up tomorrow.”
Santino Ferrucci in the No.19 Cly Del Manufacturing Honda ended the day in 17th place with a time of 01:01.0845s and speaking following the action he said:
The track here in Toronto is really fun. We just have a little bit of work to do on the set-up. Sebastien (Bourdais) and I, for the first time this season, have really close, really similar set-ups, but he has a couple of things that are a little different so we’ll take a look at that and see what we have for tomorrow.
