Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais returned to the cockpit of his No.18 Honda on Monday at the Mid-Ohio sports car course for the first time since his crash at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway just 72 days ago.

Bourdais made his return to the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock at the Honda Indy Toronto two weeks ago.

The Frenchman also attended the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio sports car course and speaking during Sunday’s race he said that he is unlikely to return to racing during the next two races which are oval events at the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway and the Bommarito Automotive Group 500.

Bourdais and Coyne are targeting the Indy Grand Prix at The Glen and he will also compete in the season finale GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma.

Dale Coyne is set to run three cars for the final two races of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season with Ed Jones, Sebastien Bourdais and Esteban Gutierrez.
