Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda’s Indianapolis 500 day was over before it even began after a brake fire on the formation lap ended whatever sort of result he was going to get.

As it stands with lap 57, Dixon is three laps down and is last on the road after the team pitted the Iceman for repairs to his brakes. Things will get worse for Dixon next weekend in Detroit as he has a nine place grid penalty for the Detroit Grand Prix.
