AJ Foyt Racing announced on Wednesday, ahead of the season-ending Big Machine Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Super Speedway presented by Gainbridfe, that Santino Ferrucci will continue with the team for a third season in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES season following what has been an awe-inspiring 2024 campaign for Ferrucci and the No.14 team.
Speaking about his new agreement with Foyt, Ferrucci, who is on the cusp of scoring a top-ten finish in the championship, the best result of his career to date and Foyt’s first top-ten championship finish since 2002 commented:
“I think Larry’s done a great job building the team so they are now in a position to win an Indy 500 and compete for championships. “Everybody that’s there is what made this team’s amazing turnaround. We’ve all put a lot of time, energy and hard work into this program and I really want to see it through, not just as the driver but on a personal level too.”
Team President Larry Foyt is delighted that Ferrucci returns to the team for a third season saying:
“I’m thrilled to continue with Santino in the number 14 car. “We have really gelled over the last two seasons and he’s a big part of our recent success. This continuity is great for the team and I believe the pairing of Ferrucci and Malukas next season is a powerful combination for AJ Foyt Racing.”
Team owner and INDYCAR SERIES legend AJ Foyt commented saying:
“I’m happy that Santino’s back. “We got to know him more and he got to know us and I think it made a difference. He did a great job this year and I hope we have an even better year next year.”
The news also means that the team’s driver lineup for 2025 is set with Santino Ferrucci, who is joined by David Malukas, who joins the team from Meyer Shank Racing. For Ferrucci, who has the best result for Foyt of third at the Indianapolis 500 in 2023, the continuity is fantastic for the Connecticut native.
