Schmidt Peterson Motorsports chief race engineer Leena Gade has left the outfit.
Gade, who joined the team in January to serve as James Hinchcliffe’s chief engineer on the No.5 Honda leaves the team after just five races of the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season.
Gade who moved over to the Verizon IndyCar Series from the world endurance championship wished the team well for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil this weekend and for the rest of the championship.
Gade explained that the relationship just didn’t work out.
The Mayor of HinchTown will miss this weekend’s 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil after failing to qualify for the race but Paddock Eye understands that this has had no impact on Gade’s departure from the team.
