Irishman Craig Breen will compete in the 2017 World Rally Championship with Citroen Racing alongside Northern Ireland’s Kris Meeke.

Breen drove for the Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team in 2016 and will drive a second Citroen C3 alongside Meeke. It is not yet known what events the Waterford native will compete in, however Citroen have confirmed that they are working on entering a third C3 early in the season.

Citroen Racing’s Team Principal Yves Matton commented by saying:

In choosing two young crews to complete the line-up, I don’t think we can be accused of having gone for the easy option, But this original solution is very much aligned with Citroën’s mindset.

Breen is joined in the second C3 by Stephane Lefebvre who have both signed two year deals with the French manufacturer.

Matton went on to say:

And having seen them compete this season for the Abu Dhabi Total WRT, we believe in the potential of Craig Breen and Stéphane Lefebvre. They have the natural talent, motivation and work ethic to win rallies.
