Ireland’s Craig Breen who will be back in action in the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC next month for the Ypres Rally Belgium has been going all out in his preparation for the event. The Waterford native was in Belgium last week to contest the Aarova Rally Oudenaarde, his first tarmac event which he won.
Last year, Breen took victory in a rally2 and he is looking forward to the event having been on the podium for Hyundai last time he competed in the WRC with Hyundai last month in Estonia where he and co driver Paul Nagle came home in second place.
Speaking to Paddock Eye last weekend during Rally Italia, Hyundai Team Principal Andreas Adamo said he was impressed with the job that Breen and Nagle have been doing this year otherwise they would not be with the outfit.
Breen will be hoping for another strong event next time out as the WRC will head to Monza for the season finale in December and he will be hoping to be back in the car for that Rally.
Hyundai head to Belgium next month leading the WRC Manufacturers Championship standings by seven points from Toyota Gazoo Racing following their 1-2 finish with Dani Sordo and Thierry Nueville last time out at Rally Italia Sardinia.
