McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown has confirmed that he was not aware of Alex Palou’s contractual situation with Chip Ganassi Racing before signing the defending series champion to race for Arrow McLaren SP in 2023.
The AP News Agency reports that Zak Brown is not interested in buying out Palou’s Ganassi contract.
Palou was very quiet last weekend in Toronto following the news that the Spaniard had signed for Arrow McLaren SP.
NBC Sports are also reporting from Iowa on Friday that Palou has been locked out his remote access to team data so is unable to access trackside race data from home.
Palou, who is competing in the No.10 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda has confirmed that he wants to leave Chip Ganassi Racing at the end of the season.
Zak Brown has confirmed however that McLaren will not pay to buy Palou out of Chip Ganassi Racing contract.
