Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch who drives the No.18 M&M’s Toyota in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series says that his talk with Hendrick Motorsports Chase Elliott went really well.
On Wednesday as the pair battled for second place in the Toyota 500 at Darlington Raceway Busch made slight contact with Elliott’s No.9 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota which put Elliott into a spin and as a result he hit the pit wall retiring from the race. Busch went on to finish in second place behind his team mate Denny Hamlin in the No.11 Fed Ex Toyota.
Speaking during a media conference call following Thursday’s Xfinity Series Toyota 200 where Busch finished in second place he said:
“Yes, Chase and I talked and it went really well. “He’s a class act, we’ve all seen that. The conversation overall was good.”
The pair will be back on track on Sunday as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600.
