The NTT INDYCAR SERIES track action at World Wide Technology Raceway began on Saturday night following a storm delay. When the action got underway, it was Josef Newgarden in the No.2 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet, the 2023 oval master who was fastest with a speed of 24.9944s, ending the session just ahead of teammate Scott McLaughlin.

Takuma Sato was third, just ahead of WIll Power, who, in the final minutes of the session, was involved in a heavy crash where he hit the marbles hard, and after hitting the wall, he came back down on the track into the path of Marcus Ericsson.

Felix Rosenqvist was fifth just ahead of Alexander Rossi and Colton Herta, while Conor Daly had a great session for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing as he ended the day in 8th place just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and Callum Ilott who rounded out the top ten.

Pato O’Ward was 11th just ahead of David Malukas and Romain Grosjean while Alex Palou who revealed to NBC that he had taken an engine penalty for the race on Sunday ended the session in 14th place just ahead of Sting Ray Robb and Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Band Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.

Linus Lindqvist was 17th just ahead of Devlin DeFrancesco and Kyle Kirkwood while Christian Lundgaard rounded out the top twenty just ahead of Helio Castroneves and Augstin Canapino.

Ryan Hunter Reay was 23rd just ahead of Rinus VeeKay and Santino Ferrucci while Benjamin Pedersen ended the session in 26th just ahead of Ed Carpenter and Graham Rahal who rounded out the order in 28th place.
