Jenson Button has revealed that he could stay in Formula One beyond next season. McLaren Honda confirmed on Thursday following weeks of speculation that the 2009 world champion will remain with the team next season as he has a two year contract.
Speaking to Auto Express, Button commented by saying:
For me, the exciting year is 2017. There’s going to be so much more mechanical grip – from what I’ve seen it could be four or five seconds quicker a lap through mechanical grip and aerodynamics.
Button revealed that the team are heading in a good direction and that he is exited about the future.
