Former Formula One driver Jenson Button says that races he won while he was team mate to Lewis Hamilton at McLaren were some of the best races of his career because he had to beat the four time world champion.
Button joined McLaren as world champion from Brawn in 2009 with Hamilton having won the championship the previous year in 2008.
Button and Hamilton were never close in a friendship way but Button told Sky Sports:
He is unbelievably quick and over one lap, he is the quickest guy I think that has ever driven a Formula One car.
Button returns to full-time racing in 2018 as he joins Honda in Japan for the Super GT championship.
The 2009 world champion returned to a Formula One cockpit last year when he drove in place of Fernando Alonso at the Monaco Grand Prix while the Spaniard was competing in the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
Button is no longer part of the McLaren organisation having been replaced as test and reserve driver by Lando Norris.
