Former Formula One driver Jenson Button who races in the Japanese Super GT championship says he is excited to competing in the LeMans 24 Hours for the first time in his career.

The 2009 Formula One champion is racing for SMP Racing alongside Vitaly Petrov and Mikhail Aleshin.

Button revealed that the reason he left Formula One was because he was no longer excited by the sport and that he lost the thrill of racing in the series. Button said that he is looking forward to being reunited with his old McLaren team mate Fernando Alonso who is competing for Toyota Gazoo Racing.

Button said that he believes that all drivers should compete in the LeMans 24 Hours at least once in their career.
