McLaren Honda’s Jenson Button is set for an emotional weekend in Abu Dhabi as it marks the end of his time in Formula One.
Button, who made his Formula One debut with Williams in the year 2000 announced earlier this year that he will step back form his McLaren race at the end of the season, however the option remains for the 2009 world champion to return to the Woking based outfit in 2018.
Button said that he is looking forward to concluding this chapter of his career and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
Button’s place at McLaren will be taken by their young driver Stoffel Vandoorne who scored points for the team on his debut in Bahrain where he filled in for the injured Fernando Alonso.
Button said that he will have a lot of support with him in Abu Dhabi as his family and friends will join him over the weekend.
