Jenson Button and McLaren will sit down in September to decide what the future holds for the 2009 word champion.

Button’s contract with the Woking based outfit at the end of the season and he has been strongly linked with a return to Williams where he began his Formula One career in the year 2000.

Button joined McLaren as world champion in 2010 and instantly made an impression ending the season in fifth place in the championship just two points behind Lewis Hamilton taking two wins in Australia and China. Button has not made up his mind as to whether or not he will be in Formula One next season but has said that he is looking forward to life after Formula One whenever that comes.

Felipe Massa is set to leave the Williams Martini Racing team at the end of the season leaving a seat available at Grove alongside Valtteri Bottas with deputy team principal Claire Williams and chief technical officer Pat Symonds expressing an interest in signing Button for next should he be available.

Button has however said that he would be interesting in the World Endurance Championship and also competing in rally cross.
