The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team confirmed on Thursday evening that their test driver Tatiana Calderón who made her test debut with team just a few weeks ago will be back in action at Ferrari’s test track in Fiorano this weekend.
The 25 year old who drove the C37 in Mexico following the Mexican Grand Prix will drive the team’s 2013 V8 powered C32 car on Saturday and Sunday.
Speaking about the news, Tatiana said:
It is great to be behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car again so quickly after my debut earlier this month. “This next step will be even more special.
“It will be exciting to gain further experience and to learn more about these cars. I look forward to continuing to work, develop, and improve together with the team.”
The Hinwil based outfit have been extremely impressed with the Colombian’s progress so far and team principal Frederick Vasseur commented on the news saying:
We are pleased to have Tatiana Calderon completing two days of testing at Fiorano.
“She impressed the team with her dedication, focus, and skills at a recent promotional event.
“We are convinced that Tatiana has what it takes to drive at the highest level and look forward to seeing her progress and gain more experience at the upcoming test.”
The news about the increased programme is fantastic for the 25 year old and a great opportunity for her and at Paddock Eye we believe she will get a free practice outing in 2019.
