The NTT IndyCar Series saw history being made in the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge as female forward team Paretta Autosport made their IndyCar race debut with Simona De Silvestro.
Speaking to Paddock Eye earlier this season, team owner Beth Paretta who has a technical alliance with Team Pensoe said that the team hope to enter the NTT IndyCar Series full-time in 2022.
Paretta said that her sim is eventually to run two cars full-time in 2023 and if Simona De Silvestro is not available to return to IndyCar full-time next season, Calderón could be an option for Paretta Autosport.
It could be seen as a gamble for a new full-time team to hire a rookie however, Tatiana Calderón showed great speed during her test at Mid-Ohio on Tuesday when she tested for AJ Foyt Racing which could see the Colombian decide to test again or maybe even race in IndyCar.
Paretta Autosport also has their partnership with Team Penske so they would not be completely new entering the series.
It will be interesting to see what happens next season, with six races remaining it could be a perfect opportunity for Paretta Autosport to put Tatiana in their car for a race as the team has not ruled out running a second race this season.
