Toyota return to the World Rally Championship this year for the first time in 13 years. The Japanese manufacturer will field a Yaris WRC car with Gazoo Toyota Racing.
The WRC will have a different look this season with Citroen Racing returning to full-time competition and the withdrawal of Volkswagen from the series and dominating the 2016 World Rally Championship.
Jari Matti-Latvala and Juho Hanninen will drive for Gazoo Toyota Racing while Citroen have Kris Meeke, Craig Breen and Stephane Lefebvre.
Citroen have dominated the World Rally Championship in recent years with Sebastien Loeb winning the championship with the team. Toyota have many partners involved with the team such as Microsoft, Panasonic, DMG Mori and Michelin among others.
Gazoo Toyota Racing is led by former World Rally Champion Tommi Makinen, the Finn is a four time WRC champion, competing in the sport from 1987-2003 who has incredible experience within the World Rally Championship so Toyota will be in a good position with Makinen at the helm and Latvala in the lead car to be successful this season.
