In an extraordinary turn of events, Paddock Eye has learned that just over a month after his arrival as head of race engineering, Michael Cannon has left his role at the PREMA Racing NTT INDYCAR SERIES team.
Trackside Online confirmed the news via X on Friday, saying:
TSO can confirm that, unfortunately, Michael Cannon & PREMA Racing have parted ways before the first race of the team’s debut #INDYCAR season.
Cannon joined PREMA in December from fellow Chevrolet-powered NTT INDYCAR SERIES team AJ Foyt Racing. He helped the team turn around, and Santino Ferrucci ended the 2024 season in ninth place in the championship.
PREMA Racing will make their NTT INDYCAR SERIES debut at the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding which takes place on February 28 to March 2.
