Arrow McLaren’s Nolan Siegel in the No.6 onsemi Chevrolet scored his best NTT INDYCAR SERIES race result to date with a great drive from 20th on the grid to finish the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway in seventh place and speaking following the action he said:

Mega race. Kind of had a bit of everything. Early on we were on a fuel save strategy. But there was a stint in the middle where we pushed to the max, absolutely flat out. And then towards the end, we had five of six laps to kind of let everything happen. I’m extremely happy to walk away with a podium here.”

While Siegel’s race was great, elsewhere in the McLaren camp, Pato O’Ward suffered a mechanical issue, and Alexander Rossi was caught up in a late-race incident. They all had disappointing days.

Speaking following his retirement from the race which leaves him in sixth place in the championship with just four races remaining, O’Ward said:

“We’re not quite sure if it was a leak or if it was a plain engine failure; we’ll just have to see. It’s been a year of ups and downs, and at this point, we just want to be winning races. There are four to go, so there are plenty of points on the table. In terms of the championship, we will just see where we stack up at the end of the year. At this point, all I care about is winning races.”

Alexander Rossi who has four races left with the team commented following the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 saying:

“We’re not quite sure if it was a leak or if it was a plain engine failure; we’ll just have to see. It’s been a year of ups and downs, and at this point, we just want to be winning races. There are four to go, so there are plenty of points on the table. In terms of the championship, we will just see where we stack up at the end of the year. At this point, all I care about is winning races.”

Arrow McLaren Team Principal Gavin Ward said:

“Felt like we had three cars capable of finishing in the top five today, but it didn’t go our way. We’ll need to look into the cause of a loss of coolant pressure on Pato’s car, which ended his day. Nolan’s strong restarts and a brilliant strategy had us set up for a fight for the win until he had a speeding penalty after locking up the rears heading into the pits. A strong recovery brought us back to seventh for the No. 6 onsemi Arrow McLaren Chevrolet. Alexander was on for a solid top-five until being collected in a late race restart through no fault of his own.”
