The Carlin Racing team head into today’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach hoping to translate their qualifying performance into a strong race result.

Patricio O’Ward in the No.31 Guess Chevrolet had a fantastic qualifying for the Florida based outfit making it through to the Firestone Fast Twelve and qualifying in ninth place with a time of 01:07.2764s.

The result in qualifying just shows that the hard work is paying off for the team who are into their second season in the NTT IndyCar Series.

The team will field three cars for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge which takes place in May.

Carlin have also been supporting McLaren Racing’s Indianapolis 500 programme providing logistical and technical support to the team so it will be interesting to see how that plays out over the Month of May.

The team will be hoping that they can have a strong result this afternoon to give them a solid foundation heading into the month of May.
