Newly appointed MSA president David Richards believes that the addition of Carlin Racing to the Verizon IndyCar Series grid for the 2018 season is great news for British motorsport.

Trevor Carlin will field a two car full-time Verizon IndyCar Series team in 2018 having announced the signing of Max Chilton and Charlie Kimball from Chip Ganassi Racing.

Carlin Racing have become the first British team to compete full-time in the Verizon IndyCar Series starting with the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg which takes place from March 11-13.

Speaking to Paddock Eye during Friday’s Motorsport Safety Fund at the Autosport International Show at Birmigham’s NEC Arena, Richards said that the British involvment in the Verizon IndyCar Series is great to see.
