Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda was second with a speed of 234.093MPH ending the morning just ahead of his team-mate Jimmie Johnson in the No.48 Carvana Honda who continues to impress setting a speed of 233.961MPH.
Alex Palou in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda was fourth fastest with a speed of 233.734MPH just ahead of rookie Callum Ilott in the No.77 Chevrolet for Juncos Hollinger Racing who, like Johnson has been extremely impressive setting a speed of 233.308MPH.
Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts AutoNation Honda set the sixth fastest with a 233.295MPH just ahead of his team-mate Marco Andretti who set a speed of 233.262MPH.
Rinus VeeKay was eighth for ECR with a speed of 233.206MPH.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Marcus Ericsson in the No.8 Huski Chocolate Honda was ninth with a speed of 232.985MPH just ahead of Romain Grosjean in the No.28 DHL Pride Honda who set a 232.785MPH.
Dreyer and Reinbold Racing’s Santino Ferrucci was P11 with a speed of 232.761MPH just ahead of Conor Daly in the No.20 Bitnile Chevrolet who recorded a speed of 232.683MPH.
JR Hildebrand was 13th for AJ Foyt Racing with a speed of 232.501MPH just ahead of Colton Herta and Christian Lundgaard.
Meyer Shank Racing’s Simon Pagenaud was 16th just ahead of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Jack Harvey in the No.45 Hy-Vee Honda.
Devlin DeFrancesco was 18th for Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport while Helio Castroneves was P19 just ahead of Graham Rahal and Dalton Kellett.
Kyle Kirkwood and Stefan Wilson rounded out the order.
