NTT INDYCAR SERIES team owner Ed Carpenter says that the No.20 Guy Care Chevrolet team are heading in the right direction with Christian Rasmussen.
Speaking to NBC Sports Georgia Henneberry during practice for the BitNile.com Portland Grand Prix at Portland International Raceway on Friday, Carpenter said that he had been impressed with Rasmussen.
Carpenter said that it has been disappointing season but through no fault of Rasmussen’s.
Carpenter, who shares the No.20 with Rasmussen says that his (Carpenter’s) results should have been better this year.
Carpenter has continued his oval-only program in 2024 and will finish the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season with the double-header at the Milwaukee Mile next weekend and then the season-ending Big Machine Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Super Speedway.
Carpenter said that he has been impressed with Rinus VeeKay who has scored four top ten finishes in a row.
Speaking ahead of the race this weekend, Rasmussen said:
am excited to go to Portland for the BITNILE.com Grand Prix and am proud to be representing BitNile on the No. 20 GuyCare Chevrolet! I do have mixed feelings going into Portland, I am excited to be back in the car for the first time in a while but I am also a little sad that it’s my last race of the season. We had a few races before the break where we had good pace so we will build on that and look to finish off my season strong!”
Rinus VeeKay commented saying:
I am looking forward to Portland! It’s also very cool to have BitNile back on the car for the BITNILE.COM Grand Prix! I had my season-best finish there last year and am excited to see what we can do this year. It’s the last road course of the season, last time turning right! I feel good, we are in a strong position and I think we can extend our Top 10 streak.”
