Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves had been Inducted Into the Motorsports Hall Of Fame Of America class of 2022.

The announcement came on Friday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as the Brazilian prepares for his first NTT IndyCar Series race since winning the Indy 500 with Meyer Shank Racing in May.

Castroneves returns to the No.06 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda alongside Jack Harvey for Saturday’s Big Machine Spiked Vodka Coolers Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and speaking about his induction he said:

Many of the members of the Motorsports Hall of Fame are people that I grew up idolizing and to now be invited to join this group, I just can’t believe it. “I’m so honored to have the opportunity to be inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame and I feel so lucky to be included with these legends.

Speaking to Paddock Eye following the announcement, Castroneves said that he hopes the momentum from this year’s win will continue into next season as he prepares for his full-time return to the NTT IndyCar Series with Meyer Shank Racing.

Castroneves was joined at the press conference by journalist and NBC Sports IndyCar analyst Robin Miller who was presented his award after being Inducted Into the Motorsports Hall Of Fame Of America call of 2021.
