Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves set the best overall combined time over the course of the two day test at Phoenix International Raceway as the Verizon IndyCar Series carried out their first full pre-season test of 2016.

Castroneves the driver of the No.3 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet set a best two day average of 19.2735s completing a total of 248 laps over the course of the test with his team mate Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Hewlett Packard sponsored Chevrelot ended the test in second place with a time of 19.2884s a lap that he completed during practice three on Saturday.

The French driver completed more laps than anyone else over the two day test with 337 under his belt.

Ed Carpenter Racing’s Josef Newgarden ended the two test with the third fastest time overall completing 295 laps with a fastest time of 19.2917s and ending up just ahead of Marco Andretti who was the leading Andretti Autosport Honda who completed 267 laps.

Tony Kanaan was sixth fastest in the No.10 NTT Data Chevrolet completing 202 laps. Will Power was 7th fastest overall in the No.12 Team Penske Chevrolet.

Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Andretti Autosport Honda was eighth fastest having completed 253 laps over the two days. Reigning series champion Scott Dixon was 9th fastest in the No.9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Team Chevrolet completing 252 laps over the course of the two day test.

Reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya in the No.2 Team Penske Chevrolet rounded out the top ten completing 238 laps.

Graham Rahal in the No.11 Steak N’Shake Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda completed a total of 240 laps was 11th fastest ending up just ahead of Charlie Kimball who completed 234 laps.

Takuma Sato in the No.14 AJ Foyt Racing Honda completed a total of 249 laps and ended up just ahead of Sebastien Bourdais who completed 262 laps.

Carlos Munoz completed 310 laps ending up just ahead of James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda who completed 310 laps over the course of the two day test.

Gabby Cheves who spent the two days testing the No.7 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda ended up completing 328 laps.

Verizon IndyCar Series rookie Max Chilton who will drive for Chip Ganassi Racing this year completed 307 laps with his fastest time of 19.5699s coming in practice three and at a speed of 188.003mph.

Luca Fillipi completed 233 laps. Conor Daly ended the two day test completing 255 laps. Jack Hawksworth completed 195 laps. Over the course of the test Verizon IndyCar drivers completed a grand total of 5358 laps of the Phoenix International Raceway.
