Three time Indianapolis 500 winner and four-time pole sitter, Helio Castroneves, will start his first Indianapolis 500 for Meyer Shank Racing this weekend from eighth place on the grid after making it into the Firestone Fast Nine and setting a four-lap average speed of 230.355MPH in the No.06 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda.
Speaking following the action the Brazilian commented saying:
It was awesome to be in the Firestone Fast Nine in the No. 06 AutoNation / SiriusXM car,” said Castroneves. “What a great effort by the guys. The crew worked so hard and I’m just soaking it all in. I was proud to represent Meyer Shank Racing in the Fast Nine for the first time. We said we wanted to be in the Fast Nine and we achieved that. You have to dream big and now we go from there. We will have some work to do, but this is such a great partnership. We just need to focus on the race set up now and continue working together like we have all week.”
