Team Penske driver Helio Castroneves in the No.3 AAA Insurance Chevrolet will mark a milestone on Saturday night as he competes in his 320th Verizon IndyCar Series start in the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Brazilian will start tonight’s race from third place behind Verizon P1 Award winner Andretti Autosport’s Carlos Munoz and reigning series champion Scott Dixon.

Castroneves has taken four race wins here and one P1 Award. The Brazilian goes into tonight’s race in third place in Verizon IndyCar Series points standings on 271 points just six points behind Scott Dixon who starts the Firestone 600 just ahead of him on the grid.

Castroneves has won the Indianapolis 500 three times but has yet to win the Verizon IndyCar Series championship. Saturday’s Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway will be Castroneves’ 19th start at the race. Speaking ahead of the race this weekend following qualifying the Brazilian commented by saying:

We’re very happy with the qualifying results. And not surprised at all. The AAA Insurance Chevrolet team is the best and have worked really hard on this car. The warmth is really a challenge. Racing at night is another challenge after a practice and qualifying in the heat of the day. We all know that tire degradation is critical and trying to manage that is pretty difficult. I like where we are starting and we hope to bring home a good result.

The Brazilian will be hoping that he can add to his 29 Verizon IndyCar Series wins tonight. Last time out at the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit race 2 Castroneves had a disappointing race as he came home in
