Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves will get his first chance to test the new 2018 universal aero kit next week when he gets back behind the wheel of a Verizon IndyCar Series machine on Tuesday.
The Brazilian who will return to the Verizon IndyCar Series with Team Penske for the month of May has had a busy few weeks as the three time Indianapolis 500 winner served as the grand marshal for the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg while this weekend he is competing in the IMSA championship in the Team Penske Acura alongside Juan Pablo Montoya and Graham Rahal.
Castroneves goes into the month of May aiming to mark history as the Brazilian aims to win his fourth Indianapolis 500 championship. Spiderman ended the race last season in second place after being narrowly beaten to the title by Andretti Autosport’s Takuma Sato.
Following Tuesday’s test, Castroneves will link up with his Penske Verizon IndyCar Series team mate’s, defending series champion Josef Newgarden, Will Power and Simon Pagenaud for a Chevrolet manufacturer test alongside, Ed Carpenter Racing, AJ Foyt Racing, Dreyer and Reinbold Racing, Harding Racing and Juncos Racing on March 29.
