Helio Castroneves has confirmed that he will be racing in 2018 but has yet to say where he will race.
The Brazilian who drives for Roger Penske in the Verizon IndyCar Series in the No.3 Hitachi Chevrolet faced multiple questions about his future during 2017 to the point that during one team media availability session questions about the three time Indianapolis 500 winner were banned.
It was reported this week that the Brazilian tested the Team Penske Acura that will be raced in the IMSA next season.
Speaking to the official IndyCar website Castroneves confirmed:
One thing I know. I’ll be driving. I’ll be driving next year, for sure.
Castroneves went on to say that he still has a lot of fuel to burn. Paddock Eye understands that Chevrolet are keen to keep Team Penske as a four car operation in 2018, however with Chip Ganassi Racing confirming they are downsizing to two cars in 2018, Penske could potentially follow suit.
