Legendary martial artist Jackie Chan has described his WEC’s team Jackie Chan DC Racing’s win at the LeMans 24 Hours on Sunday as like winning an OSCAR®.
Chan’s team finished second overall and won their class with Oliver Jarvis, Ho-Pin Tung and Thomas Laurent taking victory in the LMP2 class. The team had a double celebration on Monday as it was confirmed that following a technical infringement, the No.13 Rebellion Racing car has been disqualified from the race, promoting the No.37 Jackie Chan DC Racing entry to a podium place.
The news means that Jackie Chan DC Racing finished one two in class and third overall with Alex Brundle, Tristan Gommendy and David Cheng.
Speaking following the team’s win, Jackie Chan who was not at the LeMans 24 Hours commented by saying:
Congratulations to my Le Mans racing team! I just received news that they won the P2 teams: 24hrs of Le Mans Race! This is the first time in history that a Chinese racing team has ever won the P2 Race at Le Mans. Two of our teams took first and second place. What a moment to remember, creating history with the best possible results. You guys are my heroes! Unfortunately, I’m busy preparing for my JC Stunt Team 40th anniversary celebrations and also my 3rd annual Action Week at the Shanghai Film Festival, so I can’t come and celebrate with you right now. Will celebrate with you on your victorious return home!
