Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen has confirmed that personnel changes on his side of the garage in 2016 have played a key role in his upturn in performance this season.
Raikkonen heads to the Brazilian Grand Prix in a week and a half in fifth place in the championship just nine points behind team mate Sebastian Vettel who is in fourth. The Iceman has secured four podium finishes this season compared to Vettel’s six podiums.
Although personally Raikkonen’s performances have improved this season compared to last season, the Finn believes that Ferrari still has a long way to go in order to catch Mercedes and Red Bull.
Despite his improvement, Raikkonen says it hasn’t been a good season as a team due to the fact that Ferrari have been unable to compete for wins this year.
With two races remaining this season, Ferrari are in third place in the championship, 62 points behind Red Bull Racing. Ferrari have yet to win a race this season, where Red Bull have two victories, one a piece for Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.
