Chevrolet and Honda seem pretty evenly matched following the opening practice session for Saturday’s IndyCar Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Team Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi led the session but at the final moment, Team Penske’s Will Power who is the defending race winner here took the top spot with a fastest time of 01:10.0866s.
Alexander Rossi in the Honda powered No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda ended the session with a time of 01:10.1198s.
It was a great session for Verizon IndyCar Series rookie Jordan King who was third fastest for Ed Carpenter Racing who have always run well here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The second practice session for IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis gets underway at 12:30PM ET.
