Defending Verizon IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden believes that Penske’s engine partner Chevrolet have given the team everything they need to succeed.

The Tennessee native who goes into Sunday’s race second in the points standings behind Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi, has taken one victory so far this season having won the Desert Diamond West Valley Casino Phoenix Grand Prix at ISM Raceway.

Newgarden will be hoping that despite the potential for rain in the race on Sunday that the No.1 Hitachi crew will be able to challenge for victory having won here last season during his championship season with the team.

Newgarden starts the race just ahead of his team mate at Penske Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet.
