The Chevrolet-powered NTT IndyCar Series teams head into this weekend’s Gallagher Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the IMS road course looking to continue the momentum they have built up over the course of the 2022 season to date.
Heading into this weekend, Chevrolet-powered team’s have won nine of the 12 races we have had in 2022.
Last time out in Iowa Chevrolet swept the podium in both races with Josef Newgarden, Pato O’Ward and Will Power.
In race two, Pato O’Ward took victory for Arrow McLaren SP while Team Penske’s Will Power and Scott McLaughlin competed the podium.
Speaking ahead of this weekend, Rob Buckner of Chevrolet said:
It’s always good to go back to Indianapolis. “Although this is our second time this season on the IMS road course, there are a number of obvious differences. It’s a different time of year so the track and air temperature will influence tire performance. We’ll also have different brands of tire rubber on the track throughout the weekend with NASCAR sharing the weekend.
“None of this is new to us. “We’ve been able to adapt all year to different track conditions and situations, and this is a big reason we are leading the Engine Manufacturer Championship heading into the home stretch. Our teams have performed well and we’ll all continue working together to maximize any opportunities that come up this weekend.”
