The Verizon IndyCar Series Grand Prix at Watkins Glen presented by Hitachi takes place later today.
In qualifying on Saturday it was the Chevrolet powered teams of Chip Ganassi Racing, Team Penske and KVSH Racing who were the ones to beat. Chevrolet have secured eight of the top ten positions on the grid.
The only Honda powered cars starting in the top ten today are the No.41 ABC Supply Co Honda of Jack Hawksworth and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Mikhail Aleshin in the No.7 SMP Racing Honda in 10th place.
Josef Newgarden starts the race in 12th place in the No.21 Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing just ahead of James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Honda.
Charlie Kimball starts the race from 14th place in the No.83 Tresiba® Chevrolet while Spencer Pigot in the No.20 Samsung Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing starts the race in 21st place.
