Team Penske president Tim Cindric says he would welcome the addition of McLaren to the Verizon IndyCar Series for 2019.

Cindric believes however at this stage in the year that McLaren’s involvement in the series will be an association with an existing team.

There have been persistent rumors that Harding Racing are under financial pressure which Paddock Eye understands is completely untrue as the team will run two cars next weekend for the season finale in Sonoma.

It had been reported that McLaren were about to launch a takeover bid of the Mike Harding led team but this is not the case.

Cindric believes that McLaren will go with an association so that they can gather experience through an existing team.
