Verizon IndyCar Series driver Bryan Clauson who drove in the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil with Dale Coyne Racing in May has been airlifted to hospital following an accident while racing.

On Saturday evening while competing for the lead of the Belleville Nationals Midget race in Nebraska, Clauson came across some lapped traffic when his midget was forced into the wall by a fellow competed as a result of the impact the buggy rolled a number of times before coming to rest on its side.

It has been reported that following the initial impact that Clauson’s buggy was than struck at cock-pit level by another competitor. Paddock Eye wishes Bryan a speedy recovery and or thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues in the Verizon IndyCar Series
