AJ Foyt Racing’s Tatiana Calderon in the No.11 ROKiT Chevrolet had her best NTT IndyCar Series race result in only her second outing for the team as she competed in the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, round three of the 2022 NTT IndyCar Series season.

The Colombian started the race from 26th place and came through the field to finish the 85 lap event in 16th place having avoided issues that affected many of her rivals as they hit the marbles and went into the tire barriers.

Calderon will be back in action for the team at the end of the month when she competes in the Honda Indy 200 at Barber Motorsports Park before heading to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course for the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

Tatiana had just two practice sessions to get acquainted with the fearsome Long Beach track before qualifying, but she continually slashed the deficit to the pacesetters and once again outpaced seven-time NASCAR Cup champion Jimmie Johnson to line up 26th on the grid.

Speaking following the race, Calderon commented saying:

I’m really happy with the steps we have made since St. Petersburg. I feel much more confident in the car, even on pit stops and making little adjustments and learning how to deal with the tires better. I’m really thankful for the team. They did a fantastic job. Of course, we want to be fighting more people in the next couple of races. The steps we took were huge and I’ll carry that confidence into Barber.
